Okay, so there are a couple of updates on our 20th podcast.

First of all, we’ve recorded it- and this time, the podcast recording came out great. It also came out at over 2 hours of usable audio.

Because of that, we’re going to offer two separate recordings. The first will simply be Episode 20, with a running time around what we normally run at (lately, around 45-55 minutes or so). The second will be what I’m referring to as Episode 20.1. This will be the full version, almost 2 hours in length, with all of the topics we discussed (including a recap of my recent trip to Malaysia). We will make both available via iTunes, and I would suggest keeping whichever you prefer.

The second podcast will also have minimal audio enhancement (effects, music, etc.) save for the standard opening and closing music and editing for mistakes. It’s more of an unadulterated look at what we discuss on these shows.

All of that being said, look for these to come out this week. I’ll work on the podcast tonight and tomorrow, and hope to have it out by Thursday.

it’s 2am.
I leave for NYC in a few hours.
I have not packed.
I have not gotten down my suitcase from my storage closet.
I had a major crisis 2 days ago. I think I have lost my video editor to personal dramahs, and full on girl panicked. (you’d think I was a theatre major, b/c I’m in so many dramas) and I HAD to get a good video up of my LG Versa phone unboxing for my tech podcast.

Why? Because I’m going to be live on cnet.com’s super ultra hilarious podcast The 404. Yeah. The real cnet.com.

So I had to have a great video up. And in my mind, I was out my editor who made me look gorgeous on screen. I e-panicked to a few peeps, and I must be one lucky biatch, b/c in addition to my great friends, my mentor, peer, and favorite internet boy talked me off the ledge. And in the end, my editor came by and helped me out in the end. I’ll miss him and the great things he’s done for me, but I guess we all have to move on.

So I this leaves me still unpacked, and I think I’ll just catch some badly needed z’s, pack some jeanses and buy teeshirts while i’m up there.

or just wear my bridesmaid dresses all week.

Well here we are in the new year.  Finley and I expect to have a new podcast out – we had expected to have one as a end of the year but no.  So this will be a quick re-cap of last year and a first podcast of 2009.

Gas prices are going up because of tensions in the middle east.  Suprise Suprise.

Tomorrow MacWorld will be going on and we’ll be following other websites instead of reporting ourselves, cause lets face it – we don’t have a travel budget.  This will be the final keynote done by Apple as a company as they are pulling out of large conventions and events.   I suspect we may see some interesting things.  I hear Snow Leopard is just around the corner.

Obama wants to give us $500 bucks tax credit this year.  This is not a check that you get to cash.  This is a tax cut that goes to your employer so they don’t withhold as much.  So if you usually had $100 in federal taxes held per pay check – they would hold $90 instead of $100 so you’d get an extra $10 per pay check.

Not only that – remeber the $600 check you got back in May of 2008?  Yeah you still have to pay that back.  So if you normally got $1000 refund check back from the government after April – you’ll only be getting $400 refund check because Uncle Sam wants his stimulas money back.

Update: finley pointed out it won’t be this year. But its just right around the corner ie. Next year.
Q. Will the payment I receive in 2008 reduce my 2008 refund or
increase the amount I owe for 2008?

A. No, the stimulus payment will not reduce your refund or increase
the amount you owe when you file your 2008 return.

I suppose I should start at the beginning- after all, that’s the most logical place.

We started the podcast in April with an intent to do so on a regular basis. For a time, we met that goal. Lately, however, things have changed. There has not been a full, real podcast in a while. The last two podcasts were composed of prerecorded material rather than our usual shenanigans.

Okay, part of that is on me.

Some of you are aware of this already, but I recently began a new position at The Job. Because of that, my hours have shifted dramatically and I am no longer available at night to record the podcast. On the weekend, my hours that I am awake have changed as well and I am no longer the one with the most reliable schedule.

Admittedly, that kinda sucks.

Combine that with a period of the year that I am normally a bit more introspective than extroverted, and the fact that the three of us have lives that don’t always correlate to each other, and you can see the issue.

The question then comes up- does the Podcast continue?

The short answer is yes- but with the understanding that it will be less frequent than in times past. We will have a new podcast soon- if we have to go back to a single voice at a time, we will have one. To go along with that, that voice would not (and should not) always necessarily be mine.

I am going to put this out there for the other authors on Wetwired- if you want to record a podcast or a segment of one and send it to me for mixing, I’ll be glad to put it out there. Pylorns, Beerslinger and I enjoy the hell out of doing these, but this does not mean that ours should be the only voices representing Wetwired.

The Podcast shall return. Bank on that.
