Harry Unveiled today…er Bigfoot found news at 11…

Wetwired Time Friday, August 15th, 2008 at 8:16 am by pylorns

Today is the press conference, it’ll happen at 12pm PDT which is 2PM CDT.   CNN has joined in the mix of reporting about the press conference as well check their piece out here.

The UK times has a funny article as well here.

The Bigfoot Field Researchers Organisation, which believes in Bigfoot but not in Rickmat, said the deceased apeman displayed a remarkable likeness to the “Deluxe Sasquatch Costume” on sale on a Hallowe’en costume website for $449.

I agree the picture doesn’t really look like a real bigfoot.  All in all I almost feel like its an internet story that got picked up by bigger media and now is being touted as the real deal, there will be sketchy video and pictures never showing the whole thing and they won’t offer to actually show you the real thing.  I could be wrong….

More update: from fox’s site which I linked to previously:

An online Halloween-costume store, TheHorrorDome.com, based in Port Washington, N.Y., sells a full-sized Sasquatch suit that strongly resembles the thawed-out corpse, right down to the height.

“It definitely looks like our costume,” owner Jerry Parrino, who’s been keeping track of the Bigfoot body story, told FOXNews.com.

Two things stand out about Biscardi’s claims: first of all, that he’s not going to be presenting a body — and in fact claims to not even know where the body is — and secondly, that the DNA evidence he’s promising won’t be accompanied by a “chain of custody” that details where it came from and how it got to the lab.

In other words, all he may have is photos — which don’t appear to be too convincing.

So basically what we’ve all been thinking.  We could be wrong.. but…

Best comment I’ve come across here.

I bet I could make an awesome stew with that beast.

That’s good stuff.

Update: Survey Says I called it.  If you read the top of the article you notice that I suggested they’d just show some blurry pictures or video and not really produce anything. Link to Fox article.

The much-anticipated Bigfoot press conference Friday afternoon in Palo Alto, Calif., revealed little more than two men — introduced by a self-styled Sasquatch seeker — claiming to possess the 7-foot “body” of a “bipedal creature” on ice in a secret location, awaiting an autopsy.

The men, Matthew Whitton and Rick Dyer, were joined in the press conference by Tom Biscardi, host of an Bigfoot Internet radio show, who said the men approached him with their “find,” saying, “We want to talk to Tom Biscardi… They didn’t want to meet anyone else.”

Biscardi showed reporters two blurry photos, claiming one was the mouth of the “creature” while the other was another creature running through the Georgia woods. The men claimed they “stumbled on the creature,” but would not reveal more because they were concerned about it being an “endangered species.”

Biscardi reiterated his invitation to FOX News Channel anchor Megyn Kelly to come to Georgia and view the body, and plugged his Internet radio show.

He said there wouldn’t be anything more revealed Friday, but promised that he would “assemble” a group of scientists to examine the alleged corpse.

Whitton recounted how he and Dyer found the “body,” and said that more Bigfoots “paralleled” them as they were loading it onto a flatbed truck.

Yeah.  Hello hoax.

Another site, freep.com has info on the conference.

The Bigfoot news conference was a bust. Carried live on CNN and live blogged by websites across the globe, today’s news conference offered no real proof, no clear DNA evidence and nothing to make us believe the two Georgia guys who claim they found the body or the slick-talking Bigfoot “expert” who asserts it’s the real deal.

Whitton and Dyer looked and talked like a couple of Bubbas, wearing ballcaps. Whitton, who did most of the talking, became testy as reporters voiced skepticism over their credibility and wondered why they happened to be so well equipped with cameras for the impromptu “hike” that led to the discovery.

The expert the two Georgia men brought in, Tom Biscardi, was much slicker. He asserted this is the real deal. But he has been linked to previous Bigfoot false alarms and hoaxes. Biscardi said detailed “scientific” evidence on this “find” is still being examined and that there will be future revelations.

He did show and handed out some still photos, one which he said showed the tongue and cheek of the alleged creature, proving it was not a mask. And he had some stills of what he claimed showed of the supposed live critters following the Bubbas.

I love it.  I love how the big media jumped on this, cause that’s how I heard about it, they all jumped on going to the press conference and guess what, they didn’t learn anything new.

Just how badly slanted is CNN?

Bush seeks world support for Korea condemnation

CHICAGO, Illinois (AP) — President Bush said Friday he is determined to rally world support in confronting North Korea over its missile tests to send a “loud and clear” message to the communist regime.

He said North Korea was not like dealing with Iraq. There, he asserted, he decided to launch the 2003 invasion after exhausting diplomatic options.

“You know, the problem with diplomacy is it takes a while to get something done” while “acting alone, you can move quickly,” Bush said.

In a rare out-of-town news conference, he also vowed to keep hunting for terror leader Osama bin Laden, a search that has been fruitless in the nearly five years since the September 11 attacks.

“No ands, ifs or buts, my judgment is it’s a matter of time — unless we stop looking, and we’re not going to stop looking as long as I’m president,” Bush said.

He said he wanted to make clear to North Korean leader Kim Jong Il “with more than one voice” that the world condemned the test firing this week of seven missiles, including a long-range missile that failed.

Bush said the United States had “a reasonable chance” of shooting down the long-range missile, if it had not failed.

But he also said, “Our anti-ballistic systems are modest, they are new.”

The setting for Bush’s rare out-of-town news conference was the rotunda of Chicago’s Museum of Science and Industry. He stood in front of a large photograph of Chicago skyscrapers. The setting underscored the lengths the White House went to to pose the president outside of Washington.

Bush gave a rambling 15-minute opening statement in which he talked about Chicago’s vibrant economy, the war on terrorism and the war in Iraq.

Bush is spending more time on the road this summer — and less time vacationing on his Texas ranch — as part of a public-relations effort aimed at boosting his low standing in polls and GOP chances in this fall’s midterm elections.

“It might do me some good,” Bush said.

Following a government report showing unemployment holding steady at 4.6 percent in June, Bush also praised the U.S. economy. “Productivity is high, people are better off, people are working,” he said.

Bush said immigration was one of the top issues in this midterm election year. “The system we have now isn’t working,” he said.

Seriously. That portion about rambling? Any little bit they can get to make a sinde comment. I’ll admit he does ramble, but our Media should not be anti-bush, they should not be anti-anything they should be neutral and report the news without opinion.
