This last weekend we had the big Susan G Komen Walk For The Cure. I think more or less everyone I know and work with either walked it or donated in some way shape or form. I think it’s a great Charity and I donate to it every year or help at the Walk through my company who always has a huge sponsorship.

But after it on Sunday I started to think, where is my money really going? I’m all for Saving the TaTas but is my money going to big drug companies to try and do more research for a cure, or is it going to those battling cancer?

To me, it should go to those fighting the fight. Same with every fund raiser for all of the different causes, Prostate Cancer, Skin Cancer, all of it. The drug companies make millions of dollars every year. They all know who ever finds the cure for cancer will make Billions in profit. They haven’t found a cure due to the lack of money but due to the lack of brain power. Another million in their pockets won’t help make the cure happen. They need that one person or group to make that connection or the revelation that leads to the cure.

Am I saying don’t donate? Hell no, donate all you can but personally I’d prefer my money to either go to the families battling cancer or hospitals to help pay for treatments for those who can’t afford them or don’t have insurance. Next time you donate to any cause ask, Where is my money going? How will it be used? And if you can’t Donate money then ask, What can I do to help?
