The iPhone dev team has been recommending that people avoid letting iTunes perform the upgrade if they plan on unlocking later as the baseband changed in 2.0.1. They don't know exactly what changed, or if it will affect unlocking with 2.0.x, but if you want to play it safe, don't let iTunes perform an upgrade. Personally, I plan on using a Turbo SIM when I travel abroad the next time and not unlocking the baseband, even if it is available. Great tutorial! Very nice!
