LSU destroys Appalachian State as a now Category 4 Hurricane Gustav approaches

posted by pylorns

From ESPN’s site about the Game and the Hurricane:

As Hurricane Gustav approached the Gulf Coast, kickoff was moved up from 4 p.m. to 10 a.m. so the game would end well before authorities planned to initiate one-way traffic along major evacuation routes away from Louisiana’s coast. With LSU leading big and the midday sun baking the stands, Tiger Stadium looked deserted by the end of the third quarter.

Apparently you should expect Gustav to reach category 5 very shortly as well, which means many are leaving New Orleans, Baton Rouge, Lafayette, and Lake Charles for evacuation.   I’ve actually been stuck in traffic between New Orleans and Baton Rouge as they evacuated for a Hurricane some 7 years ago, lets just say sitting in that traffic for 3 hours to go what would normally take 1 hour…sucks.  Leave now if you can cause traffic is only going to get worse.
