45th Anniversary of the I Have a Dream and Barak Obama

posted by pylorns

Even if you are not a Democrat.  Even if you’re not an African American.  Tonight you’ll witness history.  Barak Obama becomes the first black man to accept the nomination to run as the Democratic candidate for President of the United States on the 45th anniversary (1963) of Martin Luther King Jr’s “I Have a Dream Speech.”

While I dislike some of his politics, I’m very excited to hear his speech and to watch some history.  I hope you will too.

It’s very easy to get caught up in the emotion and exitement that Obama’s speeches inspire. I even voted for him in the Texas primary and I’m a lifelong Republican, even if I’m not registered as such! But, I must remember that his is the party of Hillary Clinton and that brings me back down to earth. :-)
