Another year older..

Well it looks like I’m passing through another year closer to that ripe old age of 30. This year has been a pretty good year with a trip to Rome, Disney, Denver, and a few other assorted places. Mainly this birthday will be hopefully not too uneventful aside from my dad’s back surgery. Looking back its stunning to think that I was in my early twenties trying to figure out what I wanted to do with the rest of my life, and now I’m in my last year of my twenties doing it, but still saying… “there has to be more”. Anyway, another year, another foot closer to the grave :)

Creative Flow.

For years now, I’ve had a story inside of me.

It’s been one I’ve wanted to tell, one that is at once personal and quite public. It’s one that is partly based on reality, partly fiction. And for years I’ve told myself “You can’t write this. It’s too much to take on. You’re not the writer you’d need to be to tell this story.”

That was then.

That was before I accepted and embraced the concept that I can pursue this dream of mine. I want to be a writer- not just a blogger, a WRITER. Yes, there’s a difference.

I want to be able to tell this story in my head. It’s origin comes from a very painful period of my life, but it’s a story of honesty and eventual happiness. It’s not about getting the girl, or finding the secret that people die to protect, or any of that crap.

It’s just a story about a guy figuring some shit out, and finding out he can be happy.

I say it’s partially fiction and partially real, and to an extent that’s true- like any vain writer who thinks people would give a shit, I’ll be tallking about some things from my own life. True, there will be major differences. I’m not even sure where the story will end yet.

I just know I’m ready to tell the tale to those who will listen.

I guess this means I’m throwing my hat into the contest, and entering NaNoWriMo.

Out.

Either colorized later or done by the inventor of color photos? Not sure but its really neat to look at these.

New Site?!

So I finnally convinced Jenn to get a website and we’ve commisioned an artist to do some initial work for her site. We actually got the artwork done before she purchased the site. So tonight on godaddy.com we registered www.jennswanderlust.com - so within the next couple weeks I’ll have the site up and running with wordpress and some pretty snazzy graphics. I’ll also be incorporating some great new ajax plugins that are available for it as well. Anyway lots of good things - actaully once I’m done working on her site and tooling it up, its back to wetwired and other domains that I own. I’ll be working on a new format like I’ve been saying I’m planning on doing. Oh and the forums will be gone too.
