There are very few things that will happen that will cause me to completely kill a tip for a waiter or waitress.
Today, I found a new one.
So, I was at a buffet restaurant here in Baton Rouge. The place is called Super Buffet, and it came well-recommended by my family. I decided to go ahead and try it out. The price of the mainly Oriental-based buffet was very cheap- 5 bucks for all you can eat, plus a couple of dollars for the HUGE drink they sold. I bought a Diet Coke, naturally.
My drink is brought a couple minutes after I get my first plate, at which time I taste it and find that it is in fact a Dr. Pepper. I flag the waitress down and say “Ma’am, I’d ordered a Diet coke and this is a Dr. Pepper.” She apologized, and took the drink. From behind me, I hear a man say to the same waitress that he had ordered a Dr. Pepper, and had been given a Diet Coke. She takes his drink, takes my drink, SWAPS THEM RIGHT THERE and walks away.
The guy and I look at each other, and I flag her down again. “Uhm, Ma’am? I know that I drank from that Dr. Pepper and I’m pretty sure I heard him say he knew his was a Diet Coke. Could you please bring us both new drinks?” She looks at me for a moment, then suddenly says “Oh, so sorry sir.” She then takes my drink, takes his, pours them out a few booths away at a dishcart, and gets us new drinks.
Naturally, at this point I was a bit pissed.
What clinched it for me was later. She brought my bill (only after I had to flag someone down to GET said bill) and brought someone else their bill, then proceeded to stand there waiting until I grabbed my wallet. She waited again after I took the money out, and then walked up to me and said “You pay bill now?” I gave her the money for the bill, put my wallet back and walked right out the door.
…
Y’know what? I’m gonna give you some free advice. Avoid that place like the Plague.

Recently I made two purchases, and I would like to tell you about how they turned out.
The first is a projection alarm clock that syncs with the atomic clock in Colorado. The nice part is that it projects the exact time in big friendly red numbers above my bed all night long. No more straining for the time by having to go through all the trouble of rolling over on your side, no simply open your eyes and you are instantly rewarded by the blink, blink, blinkedy blink of wonderful time.
My recommendation, buy it. For $21.95 at radio shack it was a steal.
The second purchase was a wonderfully comfortable pair of designer dress pants for work. They are fully lined and slide over my legs like silk when I walk.
The only problem came when I tried to take a leak the first time. The zipper is so short that I wasn’t able to extract the necessary equipment to do what I needed. Oh, sure I could get the tip out, but that was hard to aim and just made a mess. No, I must say it never occurred to me to pre qualify a pair of pants based on the circumference of my penis, but as many of life’s little problems go, it’s the things you never think about that tend to come up and bite you on the ass.
My recommendation: $75.99 for Bergamo New York pants, don’t buy unless you have a nanocock.
You know its just 5 days away and I still don’t have it. The Christmas feeling, the spirit of Christmas. I commented under one of beerslingers posts that one of the reasons that a lot of us single people are so disillusioned during this time of year is because we don’t have kids to share the magic with. We are jaded that we have to repeat spending large amounts of money not because we want to but because we feel obligated to. I try to ask myself, why do I feel obligated, and not just want to?
I think the above statement is true, I’ve been a loaner during the Christmas season for a bit too long and I rarely see any of my family. The Christmas parties have been nice so far and the egg nog has been flowing. Who knows, maybe its the fact that I didn’t go buy a tree for my apartment, or that the tradition of going with the hobbits to get a real christmas tree is forever broken again since one of the hobbits now has bad allergies and is allergic to real christmas trees.
I’m hoping my outlook will change as tomorrow I go on vacation and travel to points unknown to visit my family that I haven’t seen in over a year. I’m hoping that one of them will have bought a tree and that we can all cook the ham, and turkey my father and I are bringing and enjoy a good meal. I hope that those of you who have felt the same disillusionment can some how find something similar and maybe, just maybe get a glimmer of that Christmas Spirit back.
No idea why someone found it cool to hack the forums. This time some jackass in germany thought it’d be cool. Anway forum restored and updated to 1.9.3 which resolves the security holes - so they say. Really, wetwired isn’t that big of a hack and the forums only have at a maximum of 10 users on it in one day.. so what the heck?
Just a heads-up that the forum is being worked on right now after some assbag from Germany decided to hack it.
I’m sure Py will post once it’s back up and running.

So, I’m planning a return trip to BR for Christmas.
Barring the fact that this will be a long, much needed respite from my regular life in Austin, I’m not really looking forward to the trip this time around. Why, you may ask?
It isn’t that I’ll be spending a crapload of time with the Fam- although that can be a bit of stress in its own right.
It’s not the fact that I have to spend money on Christmas presents- already done that, in fact. Even have them all wrapped, to boot.
No, the reason I’m not looking forward to the trip is solely because of the day I’ll be on the roads to BR.
December 23rd. Friday. The Friday before the Christmas weekend.
Oh, this is gonna suck.

About this Design:
Wetiwired is designed by Magnified Designs (pylorns etc) a custom web design company.
Graphic Design is done by Tyler Sticka. Almost all the cartoons are concept by pylorns and drawn and colored by Tyler.
The CSS and backend coding is designed and tested for the current most used browser , Internet Explorer 6.0 and then for Firefox. While I would like to code complely for Firefox, I feel it would be a bad idea to alienate the many users who do not know the ins and outs of other browsers.
The CSS is broken up into 2 separate style sheets and seems to work for the most part…
The concept is based on 1930’s and 40’s film noir The top logo is broken up into several smaller images and each author has his, her own posting image.
The Publishing Software is Movable Type Version 3.2
The Forum Software is XMB Forums v 1.9.1 Nexus. Color Schema by Magnified Designs
