Respect.
posted by FinleyThis year Ryne Sandberg has become a member of the MLB Hall of Fame, and during his induction he gave a speech that pretty much states everything that is wrong with baseball and everything that could be right about baseball. It’s a refreshing take on the current state of the game, why baseball is losing its stature as America’s Pastime, and why guys like Barry Bonds (who is never specifically named, but is indeed referenced indirectly) and Terrell Owens are bad for their respective sports.
Ryne was the Man in Chicago for the Cubs, and he’s still the Man today. That’s cool.
Out.
