My Mental Problems

Wetwired Time Saturday, June 18th, 2005 at 6:36 pm by Beerslinger

I thought I’d give you a brief glimpse in to my phychosis.

You know that song, “funky town”, well I heard it onthe raido at work the other day, and I’ve been having this wierd fantasy ever since.

You see, if there really is a funky town, then there must be a mayor of funky town. And just think of how much of a drag that job would be. I mean some decisions would be easy. The official band, for instance, would have to be George Clinton and the P funks. And the official slogan for the city would be”Funky town, it’s Funk-a-licious”.

But that’s wherethe fun ends.

First of all, everyone wants to go to funky town, but once they get there, I’m banking that they don’t really want to work there. High population groth and workers in short supply just screams public works nightmares.

Then you have to worry about things like health care for when people party too hard. Sure, there’s that wierd guy in the corner that calls himself Dr.Funks-a-Lot. But who knows if he really has a degree. I mean, yeah, a cool name and a dream, sure. But that doesn’t mean he should be seeing real patients. At some point you have to tell the doctor “go funk thy self”.

Then you have the whole problem of who you let into funky town in the first place. I mean, even the idea of used car salesmen in funky town: Funk worthy, Ithink not my friend.

I mean really, who wants to have to choose between the jerry curl and the afro as the funkiest hair style in history.

But you

Batman

Wetwired Time Friday, June 17th, 2005 at 7:32 am by pylorns

Tonight I’m going to head out and see if I can catch a showing of Batman Begins. This would be the first time in 16 years that I have sat down in a theatre to watch a Batman movie. First being in 1989 when Batman was released. Which at the time and still to this day was the best Batman rendition. Although I haven’t seen the latest one yet. But until I do it will hold the title. Did you know that Batman won an OSCAR for best art/set direction?

Batman Begins review- the short, short version.

Wetwired Time Wednesday, June 15th, 2005 at 2:53 am by Finley

Go see it. It’s undoubtedly the best Batman movie ever made, and I’ll have to see it again a couple times to determine where I place it in my top superhero movies of all time. Probably above X-Men and X2, and it’s vying in my head for top spot with Spider-Man 2.

Go see it. I truly doubt you’ll be disappointed.

Tom Cruise is Evil… Maybe.

Wetwired Time Monday, June 13th, 2005 at 12:34 pm by Finley

That’s right, I said Tom Cruise may be Evil.

We’ve commented upon this site in the past about the farce of a religion known as Scientology, the cult formed by L. Ron Hubbard back in the day. We’ve made no bones about our distaste for this organization. Tom Cruise has been their “spokesperson,” for lack of a better term, for nearly 20 years now. Rumor has it that Nicole Kidman’s unwillingness to raise their children in it instead of Catholicism was one of the reasons for their breakup. He, along with several other well-known members of the Hollywood elite, have been the brighter face of Scientology for as long as I can recall.

This, in and of itself, disturbs the crap out of me. See, there are really two forms of the “organization.” One is the nice, clean, simple face brought on by actors and actresses as the PR version of Scientology. The other, far more sinister form is that which regular people get to see. This is the part that is most unsavory, and though I won’t go into it here I’d advise you to do some research into this.

Now though, Tom has managed to do something that I would go ahead and say is evil. See, he’s managed to get a new face for Scientology- Katie Holmes.

I can’t say whether or not Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes are a real, legitimate couple. I think she’s a girl who got swept off her feet by the guy who she grew up idolizing, and for her this is pretty much a dream come true. So hey- if he asks her to go to these meetings for something he takes so seriously then who is she to argue, right? I mean, this is love- right?

But if it isn’t…

If this “relationship” is a calculated ploy by Cruise to make himself look better in time for his big movie being released this summer, and if he is taking some insecure young woman who has admitted to practically WORSHIPPING this guy in her youth under his wing to further himself…then that is evil.

Why Owen Wilson Is Now My Hero…

Wetwired Time Sunday, June 12th, 2005 at 11:54 pm by Finley

Take a look at this article, and you’ll see why.

Y’know, some of his movies suck but with this, the man can now do little wrong.

Flying the friendly skies

Wetwired Time Sunday, June 12th, 2005 at 10:56 am by pylorns

I refuse to say “out of pocket” everyone in my company says it when someone won’t be available for the day. Stupid corporate catch words. Do you guys have any you hate?

As for me, I’m off to sunny - hope to see a tornado - Oklahoma City. I mean, tornado alley an all, it’d be cool to catch one on film. But thats just me. I’ve been trying to convince my friends to go tornado chasing for some time.

Anyway I’ll be back to posting goodness sometime Wednesday, but you never know I might get a chance to post something between now and then.

If This Doesn’t Put The Final Nail in His Career’s Coffin, I Dunno WHAT Will…

Wetwired Time Sunday, June 12th, 2005 at 12:35 am by Finley

So, Mike Tyson quit in his fight tonight.

This, the man who said he would gut Kevin McBride like a fish.

Maybe, just maybe, this will finally put an end to the freakshow that is Mike Tyson’s career. Maybe now, he can rest in bankrupcy and obscurity.

Maybe. But not likely, unfortunately.

Out.

Did you know…

Wetwired Time Friday, June 10th, 2005 at 1:57 pm by pylorns

That there is a Tropical Strom/Hurricane heading towards Louisiana/Mississippi/Alabama/Florida right now? Apartently over this weekend somewhere along the eastern gulf coast will feel the wrath of mother nature.

A very good point

Wetwired Time Thursday, June 9th, 2005 at 4:07 pm by pylorns

Here.

Both at the above location and at Wizbang they discussed it. In other countries less tollerant of flag burning and speak against the government these people would have been thrown in jail. So the flag they burn that stands for the freedom they have in this country - where they wouldnt have where they come from.

A group from Islamic Thinkers Society protested the U.S. the other day by desecrating the U.S. flag and denouncing our government.

Desecrating the U.S. flag is a pretty crappy thing to do, BUT

Even Will Agrees

Wetwired Time Thursday, June 9th, 2005 at 12:54 pm by pylorns

Not to let his site become a billboard…

When I get the redesign launched, there will be minimal advertising. I’m doing this because I believe I’ve found a tasteful and non-intrusive way to help support my family. I will never allow WWdN to become a billboard, and I will never allow my writing to be influenced by, or secondary to advertising or sponsorship. I do plan to enter a few affiliate programs, and if I ever link to something that could go through one of those programs, I’ll do it. Again, I’m sure this won’t sit well with everyone. Deal.

Key words, TASTEFUL, NON-INTRUSIVE.
