I watched a bit of John Kerry talk in Columbus Ohio on CSPAN tonight and listened to the questions put towards Kerry.  One in particular was about the outsourcing of American jobs.  One of them specifically said that the GM plants were outsourcing so much work overseas they were worried about job security.  She asked what he would do as president to ensure it would stop.  He did a lot of dancing around the subject but he said something that interested me - he of course made it an attack on Bush, but I’m curious to find out how much of it is true.  He stated that currently large corporations get tax breaks for outsourcing and deferals.  Not only that but if they were taxed in another country that they would be re-imbursed for that taxation money.  Meaning that we are paying for them to let us go and give our jobs to another country.

I have yet to do any real research to find out about it, but I’d be curious to find out how much of that is factual.
