I purchased the domain of wetwired back in 2000. The idea was to have a website that was news and campus oriented. We wanted to get the local college kids interested in the site, and create a web portal of sorts. We advertised on campus, we bought chaulk and wrote in the quad about the website, we pushed business cards. The site got pretty busy, but amazingly enough, no where near as busy as it is today. As time went by and writers came and went, and we added a forum, things changed, but one thing remained the same, we stayed primarily a news site, we commented about the normal hustle and bustle of everyday news. Today, the site is more of a community, and with the advent of blogger, I steered the site to use that and the forums. Our traffic is growing daily due to the great community of fellow bloggers and links from other great sites. But I cannot leave behind the concept of the site. We will still continue to post our comments about the news, the bad reporting, the bad opinions. I am pleased to announce that Beer Slinger, writer of the original series Cocktails and Conclusions, is coming back to the staff to write articles about news, politics, books, things that are happening in the world.
