Updates and Kill Bill

I’ve uploaded the code to di’s website. I am still waiting on her for some images so I can do her logo. And then we’ll get her cam up and running. Magik’s site will be redesigned a bit differently. I have a unique idea for it.
Saw Kill Bill last night. Two Words: Screwed Up. I will post Self-Inflicted Wound’s Review on this:
“I saw this Friday at the first matinee showing. Only cost $3.75. Cheapest I’ve seen a movie for in a long time. Overall, I’d give it 8 out of 10. Good bargain. The plot itself was pretty slim. Everything centers around Uma’s need for revenge. In that regard, the movie felt pretty empty. What make this such a must-see movie is the cinematography and choreography. This film is simply beautiful. If you haven’t seen it yet, just wait until you get to the House of Blue Leaves chapter. Soak up the streets of Tokyo, the slow motion action of Lucy Liu and her gang, and finally the snow covered bonsai garden. Absolutely incredible. Oh, and Uma Thurmann in that white t-shirt in Okinawa. Damn she was hot!
The fighting was masterfully staged. Yuen Wo Ping does an excellent job making me believe folks like Uma and Vivica Fox are assassins who know their trade well. I’m a big fan of samurai flicks, so the final battle sequence definitely worked for me. I thought it might have ran just a little long, though. One sequence I didn’t care for was the transition from color to black&white during the Yakuza fight. Seemed unnecessary and was a distraction.
I personally didn’t care much for the anime chapter. I just didn’t like the visual style used, except for the last sequence with Liu at 20 and the rifle. That piece worked for me. YMMV.
Finally, props to RZA and Quentin for putting together yet another terrific movie soundtrack. Everyone of Tarantino’s films to date has had an awesome soundtrack. Good to see that continues with Kill Bill.
Yes, this is a violent movie. Its rated R and deservedly so. Limbs fly and the arterial blood sprays. I loved it, but that type of over the top action isn’t for everyone. Keep that in mind if you’re more of an English Patient type of movie watcher. Again, 8 out of 10. It’s a gorgeously wild ride, admittedly with a flat plot, but the sheer beauty of the film makes up for that loss nicely.”
